Hey Lovelies,

I´ve mentioned a thorough inventory- clean up on my latest statement. Within the last weeks the topic came up in the forums, repetitively and my system was always complimented when I explained how I sort my inventory.
Back in ...2009? I hopped on a Posestand and didn´t leave it for 6 weeks (yeah you read that right...) taking raw, simple pics for EVERY fuckin item I bought...
Those pictures are hilarious I tell ya!! Naked with only a shirt, bald with nothing but a pair of jeans, blurry face but the dress rezzed just fine. Stuff like that.
On my HDD (synched with Dropbox and Nextcloud) I created the exact subfolders that I have inworld.

Actually... I didn´t take pics of EVERYthing... I just started to weed out and catalogize all those accessories, followed by furniture, makeup, poses and photo stuff.  You bet I´ll be so glad when that´s all done cos I have no idea what everything is and I basically do need that shit, spech when I think of going back to blogging.

Erm... I´m derivating. Where was I? Oh... right! Every time I buy something new I put it in either "zum auspacken" (unpack) or if it comes unpacked it goes into "einsortieren und knipsen" (sort and snap). As soon as a picture of it is saved offline it goes in the corresponding inworld folder.

If I am hunting or raiding gifts  I might go some days without unpacking and snapping pics, but I try to keep that up. Plus it helps me procrastinate with the remaining folders of horror! I do start to see a massive impact though, starting at 83k I´m now down to 62k items. Plus I throw out sizes I don´t wear and all those rezzing poses that want to animate your avatar during unpacking, unpacking scripts and stuff.

I do have back ups in my "Do not delete" Folder and if all else fails there´s usually redelivery ;).
This system works like a charm for me and I´ve been thinking about giving classes about it back in the days. Who knows what might happen?

Hm... I guess it´s time to come clear

yes, I´m still alive ... thank God? Unfortunately? I´ll leave that up to you.
There are no words that can express how terribly sorry I am to have poofed so suddenly, without a word. It´s nothing you should do, especially not as a sponsored blogger.
Let me give you a short recap of what happened in the last 3 years:

•  I had a major burnout, followed by a boreout cos my colleagues didn´t give me any tasks after the burnout in case it was too much for me (well cleaning the coffee machine 3 times a day really does your head in, trust me...)
•  there was a nasty break-up as in I got dumped pathetically
• I was at home for 2 years - plenty of time but I was struggling financially as it is and my desktop was too old to run SL properly, let alone take acceptable pics
• I met the man of my dreams and we became best friends
• I started StarWars Cosplay and joined the 501st Legion German Garrison as                TI - 68713
• I got a new laptop and returned to SL because as you might remember I abuse Kasha for Character Pics *coughs*
• Last Christmas I got a new PC (admit it you sung it in your head^^) 
• I started retraining as an office clerk (I worked in offices for years, but in Germany you need a certificate for everything...)

So yeah, while I do have the hardware to blog again I´m nowhere near capable of returning to where I was.
Back then it was like this:

1.  styling
2. setting up the spot
3. cranking the graphics up
4. praying to whoever was available - all of them
5. taking the pic
6. cropping/"editing"
7. typing the blog entry in blogspot (this one is actually written on wordpress^^)
8. posting
9. PR: 

• crossposting to WordPress, Tumblr, moolto, what have you
• FB (the blog´s page, Kashas Profile, about 300 SL Fashion groups (no really... I kid you not...)
• inworld groups
•  Flickr including all tags, links, groups

all of that took me up to 3 hours PER POST.
My current SL budget is 40€ a month which is about 12k L$, 7k for rent and 5k for shopping. You see that´s dropped down severely. Now with D (the name continues but let´s introduce him as D ^^) ...we´re going to move in next year but until then the cats and I go over every other weekend plus there are the 501st events, we´re in 2 PNP rounds (Shadowrun 5 and D´n´D 5) and  we´ve got a monthly SW get-together so it´s one free weekend. My retraining is full-time so that kills another 10 hours every Mon - Thu, 6 every Friday.  I´ve started bullet-journalling (yes, I do have one for SL, too XD) and I´ve started to clean my inventory, take pics of the  stuff I didn´t take pics of back then (accessories, poses, furniture, textures) - I´m down 21k (still 62k in there^^).
Plus there´s these damn Mesh heads. I´ve demoed everyone and their kids and moms and whatever I could find... NOT ONE I liked... so this will take quite a while, too.
You get the idea, IF I´d return to blog there´d be waaaaay less  PR, it´d basically just be:

• yadda yadda -> post
• crosspost to either Blogspot or WordPress
• FB: Blog page and Kasha´s page
• inworld groups
• Flickr

plus it´d be waay less frequent of course and not regularly. I just can´t tell how much I´ll be on tomorrow, next week, what have you.
I miss blogging, I really do. But that´s the only way it could be. There´s no way any sponsors would accept me (back) like this so I wouldn´t have sponsored posts and deadlines either.
Ok ,now you´re informed what happened, why I did what I did and yeah. I´d love to talk to you though. Via IM inworld or on the forums? I´m quite active there...

I even went back to going out - not to clubs yet mind you... but... yeah mostly to the London Sims - you know about my Anglophilia ;) (oh shush yes I know I´m nuts - love you too) and  I was asked to write an article for their blog, I suggested an article about quality because some of the London Sims are starter sims and I am always eager to to spread quality - especially within the new meat *grins* (hey we all love eyecandy don´t we) so...here it is:

Hello my lovely readers,

my name is Akasha Sternberg and I´m a blogger and shopping advisor. I randomly talked to  Debs Regent about the importance of quality and why people should invest in it and she asked me to write an article about it - yes I know I was surprised, too - but I gladly accepted.

Now you see all those nice clothes in shops ... on flickr, facebook, blogs, people inworld... and then you see the prices. Quite a lot of people turn away and complain how expensive everything is. The truth is - it IS expensive! YES! But then - it doesn´t HAVE to be THAT expensive!

One way to save money are GROUPGIFTS! Look out for the groups of your favourite designer and join it. Yes some groups will charge but thats ONCE and less than 90% in the store would cost you usually so - just pay it ;)  - you´ll get one free item of quality each month (SL limiting us with 42 groups doesn´t help here AT ALL)

Another way are Subscribers  - they do not eat groupspace and  still inform you about SALES - which leads me to the next point. Sales are often advertised in FashionGroups, subscribers, facebook groups.

A very fun way to save a LOOOT of money are hunts. You go from store to store and have to find a hidden ...bag...or symbol which gives you a gift (some are 1L but I´d say the majority are free) and sometimes stores put out more than 1 item or have freebies for the hunters or whats not.

Now let me explain why some things still cost more, sometimes up to an insane amount of L. When you produce an item as a designer you

- have to buy/design  the template (most I know use photoshop for it)
- have to texture it
- have to write/buy scripts if you want a resizer option or whatsnot
- I heard a LOT of  ranting about how hard it is to learn to design mesh items - which SL is freaking out over... for a good reason usually ;)
- you have to take vendor pics (the vast majority of designers do model their own creation to avoid the costs of booking a model - time and moneywise)
- you have to upload pics and item (I THINK you have to upload each...sleeve, collar, jacket-bodypart,... seperately...but I´m not sure there)

now in RL you pay people for their working time as well - in SL you refuse to - when it´s a LOT of time they invest in designing outfits. I don´t want to count the hours I´ve waited to spend time with my designer friends cos they were dwelling in Photoshop designing new items for their customers, always looking for new ideas and inspiration.

Let me fill you in about the time it takes to advertise a product As I mentioned I´m a blogger. Now the styling, taking pics, the tiny amount of editing I (am able to) do, writing the actual entry including stylecard... takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Promoting the entry - so people notice it - takes 1,5 hours up to 2 hours at times. Now some designers cast live models, prefer marketplace shops, most have both marketplace and an inworld store - some only have an inworld store ( which means tiers to pay - a LOT of tiers - each week).
Another popular way is to look for bloggers to blog about your items (most even give their review copies for free) or hire live models (usually they get to keep the items or have discounts on the store stuff - or of course get paid).
The highclass designers are involved in a lot of runway events and magazines - those include costs as

- advertising prices
- time to produce those pics (models/photographers needed? editing time,... upload costs...)
or for a fashion show
- the money to pay the coordinator, host, models/agency, time to promote the show/pay a promoter

that´s a lot huh?
That is why I invest in quality - I do even have quite some custom items - I´m just a fan of exclusiveness and quality... I can´t help it I guess. Now you don´t have to spend the amount of money I do - no not at all. Even with just 10$ or 20$ you can be sorted having quite a handful of quality outfits, a nice shape (make sure it´s modifiable) and skins, hair,....

Now ask yourself if you are willing to spend a little amount of money for quality?
If the answer is yes - keep your eyes open and shop till you drop - or ask a pretty avatar you come across for help - or just drop your humble Akasha a line and I´ll do my best ;)

"What would you do without SL for 24 hours?"

Hey Lovelies,

I planned to do a Look of the Day for you...maybe a cute summery dress...BUT - as soon as I took my clothes off SL went down for 2 hours (I know...right ;) ). We had a big party on my FB Wall and it was so much fun (thanks everybody). People are slowly coming back in, the designers are going back to work - and my friend Raoul pondered in my FB Chat what people would do if SL was down for 24 hrs....

What would YOU do? I can´t wait to read your comments wether it will be on FB or here^^

I am back though and I though I´d just show you what I was wearing before I tried to change - with my new parcel (neighbour parcel to my home)  - where I keep my props and studios to play around with ;)

My Graduation Show for LaMode

yesterday was the big day of my graduation show for LaMode. Because that was not enough I was the opening girl *WAAAHHHH*!!! But the choreography was fun and  I think we did well ..

While she gazes out from under her hair boa that she wears on Vanity Hair´s Babette noir she blows us kisses with her .::Glamorized::. Cold Kiss Lips in Berry05, batting her Miamai Catwalk Delicate 03 Mesh-Lashes, flirting with the audience.

This time Akasha is presenting a rather Avant Garde side of Burlesque, as she slipped into the |ALEIDA| couture skin 2, batting her Miamai Catwalk Evergreen Erotica MeshLashes. In the jaw-dropping, notice me lingerie outfit, Mardi Gras Burlesque Showgirl by AliciaKay Kilara matched with the Naomi Tan skintone from ME, anyone can catch that special eye. Behind the mask you can be anyone you want to be.

Karmen's second outfit is another outstanding creation by Boudoir called Find Another Fool.  It's a deconstructed beaded ensemble featuring officer-style epaulets and lace bra and panties with a burlesque black satin skirt and Mea Culpa Evil shoes.  She's rocking her Medium League Sia Skin and Shadow Shape by NOON and elegant black Diva Vintage Hair by Tuty's.

Lantern´s first outfit was a red outfit and Karmen wore another classic black burlesque outfit so we had a nice mix of several burlesque styles in the show.

All I can say is...IT WAS A BLAST!

Oh...and of course my friend Pandora has blogged about it  in her ever so sweet way
